Mizzou soccer season ends in a shootout loss to Illinois

After out shooting Illinois 28 – 19, the Missouri Tigers needed three crucial shots, but weren’t able to get them.

After 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime play, the game came down to the shootout. But Illinois goalie Steph Panozzo stopped shots by Dominique Richardson, Kaysie Clark and Haley Krentz.  Illinois scored on all three of its attempts to win the shootout 3-0 and the game.

Danielle Nottingham scored Missouri’s only goal at the 52:51 mark in regulation, with the assist going to Lauren Flynn.

The game marked the last appearance for seniors Taiwo Adeshigbin,  Jessica Greer, Allison Hu, Haley Krentz and Kelsey Mulcahy.

Missouri end the year with a record of 14-8-1.
