A lock-down defensive second half and two second-half touchdowns thrown by quarterback Blaine Gabbert, Missouri overcame a 13-3 halftime deficit to beat Illinois 23-13 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

Gabbert connected with T.J. Moe on Missouri’s first drive of the third quarter to cut the score to 13-10. After trading unsuccessful drives with Illinois for the rest of the third quarter, Gabbert found Michael Egnew in the end zone early in the fourth quarter to give Missouri a 17-13 lead they would not give back.
